Hello all, and welcome to the Reiten Works web site.

First off, I would just like to thank you for visiting this site and taking an interest in my art work. I call it art work because first and foremost I am an artist, even back when I was 3 years old and mom gave me my first watercolor set. I would sit out on the deck and color for hours. Horses were always the subject of my affection, I would spend the first half of my day riding my pony Dixie and the 2nd half drawing her. A few years passed and Dixie had a few babies, we kids got older and started showing those babies. Years went by and that little family project turned into a Nationally-recognized breeding program. And somehow along the way, with many twists and turns, that all turned into a career.

Every artist hopes that their work will speak for itself, but, it seems that in business, people usually want that piece of paper to back everything up. So here goes, my "credentials" to being a bonified professional artist!

1997Graduated from Dakota Prairie High School. I was involved in many activities including Yearbook head photographer, FFA Reporter with a project on my miniature horses that earned me the title of State Star Farmer, and starter on the Varsity Volleyball team.
2001Graduated from Dickinson State University with a Major in Bachelors of Science of the Arts, and Minored in Graphic Design.

While there for 4 years was President of the Art club for 2 years, had an internship with a preschool curriculum company designing coloring books and other children learning worksheets, was a member of the Ag club, was a Top 10 Denver Stock Show Livestock Judger, and had more fun than I can even remember.

2002Worked the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. You are probably wondering why I added this to my credentials page, the reason being is because this was about the most wonderful time in my life and it will always remind me to have fun and put "fun" into all my work.
2004Started Reiten Works Advertising and Design, and from there on this website tells the rest of the story.

I hope this satisfies everyone's curiosities, but if you still have more questions, you could always give my mom a call, Renee LaBarre Reiten of the Lucky Hart Ranch. Like all mothers, she is always willing to dish out the goods that no one puts on their resume, but probably should.

Thank you all again for taking the time to read this.

Sincerely,

Tara Reiten
